This medium-fine zircon flour—typically passing a 200‑mesh screen (≤ 75 µm)—is prized for its high density and thermal resilience in primary slurry coats. It delivers excellent coverage and surface definition, helping to prevent metal-wax reactions and burn-in, resulting in smooth, blemish-free castings. With a melting point above 2200 °C and Mohs hardness around 7.5, 200 zircon flour offers robust refractoriness and thermal conductivity, reinforcing shell strength and stability. The milled flour’s rounded particles reduce defects during shell formation, improving mold wash flow and shell integrity.
