This ultra-fine fused silica flour is engineered for primary slurry coats where maximum detail, smoothness, and thermal stability are essential. With a particle size typically around 20–25 microns, 200 fused silica flour conforms closely to wax patterns, ensuring sharp edge definition and a flawless casting surface. Its extremely low coefficient of thermal expansion makes it highly resistant to shell cracking during dewaxing and molten metal pours. Like all our premium fused silicas, it is processed to maintain over 99% SiO₂ purity, with virtually no cristobalite or iron contamination. The flour suspends well in both colloidal silica and ethyl silicate binders, creating a consistent, stable slurry for shell building.
