Techsol 830 Colloidal Silica is a liquid silica, high-quality binder for precision investment casting use.

Techsol 830 is a 30% solids colloidal silica binder made for reliable performance in primary, intermediate, and backup slurry coats. With a fine, spherical particle size and a high surface area of 305 m²/g, it provides strong green strength and efficient binding across shell layers. The dispersion is sodium-stabilized, with a consistent pH around 10.3 and low viscosity (9 cP), making it easy to mix, pump, and maintain on the floor. Its optical clarity and narrow particle distribution help deliver clean burnout, minimal cracking, and a smooth finish—whether you’re casting stainless, cobalt, or high-performance alloys.

Techsol 830 is designed for long slurry life and shell consistency. For best results, it should be diluted with deionized or distilled water to maintain silica levels between 23–28%, depending on your shell system. It’s stable under normal storage but must be protected from freezing, as temperatures below 32°F will cause the silica to fall out.
