This ultra-fine fused silica flour is designed for use in primary slurry coats where detail, smooth surface finish, and thermal performance are critical. With a typical particle size around 25–35 microns, 120 flour fills fine crevices with exceptional uniformity. It's extremely low coefficient of thermal expansion helps reduce shell cracking during the dewaxing and metal pouring stages, while its high purity ensures minimal contamination and consistent results across production runs. Like our other premium fused silicas, 120 flour is processed to maintain low cristobalite content, excellent suspension properties in slurry systems, and full compatibility with both colloidal and ethyl silicate binders.
