140 – Fused Silica Flour is a fused silica, high-quality flour for precision investment casting use.

140 fused silica flour offers a fine particle size—typically around 35–45 microns—making it an excellent choice for primary slurry coats where smooth surface finish and precise pattern replication are critical. It provides superior flow and coverage in slurry systems, embedding easily into wax details while maintaining uniform thickness and suspension stability. With ultra-low thermal expansion, 140 flour helps prevent shell cracking during autoclave dewaxing and metal pouring. Like our other premium fused silicas, it is over 99.9% pure SiO₂ and contains minimal cristobalite or iron, ensuring a clean burnout and reliable, high-quality casting results. Fully compatible with both colloidal silica and ethyl silicate binders, 140 flour performs exceptionally in applications demanding detail and dimensional consistency—commonly used in aerospace, stainless steel, and other high-spec industrial casting environments.
