LE Back

LE Back is a polymer, high-quality slurry additive for precision investment casting use.

Formulated specifically for use in backup and intermediate slurry layers, LE Back enhances shell strength, thickness consistency, and drying control during the later stages of ceramic shell building. This additive improves green strength in heavier coats, helping prevent shell sag, shrinkage, or cracking—especially in larger, more complex molds or castings with uneven geometry. LE Back supports even layer buildup and helps maintain slurry stability during high-volume shell production.

It is fully compatible with standard refractory materials like fused silica, zircon, and alumino silicates, and works with both colloidal and ethyl silicate binder systems. Clean burnout and thermal stability ensure no interference with metal flow or casting finish. Foundries use LE Back to improve handling during later dips, reduce drying time, and maintain shell integrity throughout firing and pour—particularly in aerospace, industrial, and large-format castings.
